Hey all, is it possible for me to drive a cv6 monaro under any circumstances on my Ps in victoria. We already have the car, as a family car and would like to know how people have gone about driving a cv6 on their Ps
Thanks
I highly doubt it - They were all supercharged IIRC.

I'm in NSW (not sure about Vic, but I think it's pretty similar). The exemption only applies to expceptional circumstances, it is made quite clear on the application form that the car in question being the only available car is NOT a valid reason. Generally the only exceptions for that area are living in the country and having a turbo'd 4WD and such and need it in off road conditions for your work in the country and such, I've heard they'll let that through. But not if you live in the suburbs with streets that sometimes have twigs and cigarette buds on them.
Here's some stuff from VicRoads:
Probationary vehicle database : VicRoads
Showing just how many variants of the Monaro they ban, the newest Monaro that is allowed for P-Platers, the '76. Sorry mate
I should point out, by banned, it means you cannot apply for an excemption, under no circumstances will they allow you to drive it.

Yep, it's banned because vicroads consider it a sports car, rather then a family car.
The only Super 6's not banned are the Statesman/Caprice. You still have to apply for an exemption though.
Im pretty sure the only way youll get around it is if it is under the 125kw per tonne and you already purchaced the car before the date of the law coming in june/july 2007 i think?
Edit: i dont think that applies anymore. Im sure ive read it somewhere before.

VS and WH Supercharged are showing up for me as:
As opposed to Monaro/Commodore Supercharged which show up as:Application Required - Probationary drivers cannot drive this vehicle unless they are given an exemption by VicRoads.
new rules are if it's a V8 or over 125kw tonne it's banned, if its a charged sports car its banned, and if its a charged family car you need an application.Banned - This vehicle is a probationary prohibited vehicle. Probationary drivers cannot drive this vehicle.
