    Default New Wheels.

After recently having the new CSA Wheels put on...I have to admit Im so nervous about gutter rash. Given the expense of new wheels, and the fact that any style can be discontinued at any time... has anyone ever bought spare wheels for later on ?

Gutter rash can be repaired. I've had it done twice on the same wheel and you can't tell it's been done unless I explain what you are looking at.

Be careful and don't let your wife drive the car.

I would buy a spare 4 considering the above info!

As Troy said, repairs aren't too bad unless you really love your curbs!

    Get a set of Rimskins.

Will help prevent the slight rubs...but wont prevent massive gutter bashing.

Yeah as other's have said, I'd get rim skins. But if you drive carefully it really shouldn't be that much of a problem... *prepares to be attacked*

I got rim skins on mine and i had a big pot hole flare out my guard and smack into my tyre. Rim skins protect 100%.

If they got a machined lip, don't clean with with anything other than microfibre.. Figured out even the slightest rough thing made marks on mine..

That being said, I've never hit a gutter or anything. I always drive past the gutter and reverse back into it looking in the mirror (as it's aiming so i can see the gutters purely for this point).

I can judge mine easily, i know i can get that 1-1/2 cm away. But if i don't have to drive in straight i'll do it that way. The cautions you take with new wheels.
