Hi, I wasn't sure where to post this (here seemed most suitable). I have a set of 4.11 diff gears and there is a chip about 1cm on the inside, would this effect it in anyway? Eg. Driving would it make like a jolt when the pinion connects with it? Cheers.
(gears are not in my car just have them sitting around)
They sound like there stuffed.

It should be nice and noisy 'till it goes kahboom and destroys everything.
Oh nice, so best of scrapping them at a scrap metalist?
got a pic of the chip
I can upload one soon if not tomorrow, to me it doesn't look as if it could do much damage if any, just dont want to take any chances and have to end up buying another diff
In the past i have used diff gears with small chips in them just have to clearance the chip area to remove any high spots to lessen noise and wear all depends where the and how big the chip is
I'm not sure how to upload images from my mobile, if you want inbox me your number and I can MMS you an image of the chip..
It's all good, I texted another member and had it all sorted, thanks anyway mate
