Hi guys about to put some tyres onto my new Mags, SSV's, i have spoken to a number of different tyre shops and got alot of quotes. I'm a stickler for tyres, i usally run bridgestones, but due to the price I am forced to look at something cheaper, I am looking around the $300 mark per tyre. I had Kumho KU31's recomeneded to me by a couple of tyre places, has anyone used them? know anything about them?
Main questions i have are:
How noisey are they?
How well do they handle in the wet?
How long will they last?
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers Guys
Jonesy
sorry never had kumho's so can't comment on them
if your lookin at $300 per tyre look for Falken 352's - best tyre for the price!
I was lookin for tyres earlier in the month and found that Tempe Tyres are floggin these kumho's for $200
I cant comment on that particular tyre however,
I had a set of kuhmo tyres on 18s in my last car and i couldnt honestly recommend the more.
I had them on for about 45 000km and i did ALOT of skids and fast paced driving..i wasnt easy on them in other words, however i did rotate them every 5000kms without fail.
They were pretty quiet for such cheap tyres, with the stereo on a very moderate level i couldnt hear them at all.
The also had incredible grip as well for such a cheap tyre, they were pretty good in the wet as well.
Edit- forgot to mention mine cost 220 each fitted and balanced,so they werent exactly kuhmo's top end tyre but still very impressive.
Ive also tried bridgestones and nankangs and the kuhmo's are better in every single way in my opinion.
i had a set of kuhmo tyres on my car, they were noisey as hell, rubbish in the wet and only did 20,000km
You can get the FK452's for under 250 if you look around.
i have some 18" Kuhmo KU21 tyres on my car at the moment and there fantastic tyres for there money (i paid $160 each fitted) and there not noisy and the grip is fantastic for there price, i cant comment on there wear yet as i got them earlier in the year and they still have plenty of tread
I run Kumho KU31's and for the price I think they are great. I paid approx 250/tyre for my 20" staggered set I have.
You can prob get them cheaper now
As for noise, my car already makes heaps of noise and I'm running coilovers and aftermarket trailing arms and toe rods so road noise is not something I'm concerned about.
Im on my second set and will be happy to go them again.
I'm running KU31's on my 19's and have done about 15k with no signs of camber wear yet!. They're starting to get a bit noisy buy i'm real happy with the performance.
For $165 per tyre you cant go wrong and I'd get them again
Where did you find them that cheap?
