Hi, my first post here so please forgive if I have posted to the wrong category,
I have a VT calais and just removed the eurovox head unit, got a philips head unit, which the wiring had a built in connector for the aeropro vt iso plug.
All is wired and tested and all ok with wiring/connection.
My problem is with the antenna/Arial plug, its too big and hits the edge of metal plate that partially sits behind the head unit, and leaves the HU poking out about 2-3 cm more than it should.
It mounts flush without the arial attached, but the reason i purchased it was because the eurovox HU was faulty.
Here is a Pic with the problem area circled (Not my car but another pic found online)
I am wondering if it is possible to get a slim line plug adaptor, or would it be best to drill/cut or bend it out and if so cold anyone recommend a method of doing this?
I'm not sure how different a VT is to a VY, but in the VY you can remove the metal cradle (if i remember right: couple of screws, then bend in the top and bottom and it just pulls out). Then just use a rotary tool or similar to cut out the offending section.
Ok, thanks, I got this aeropro 90 degree extension which is pretty small and was able to slip past the offending bracket.
