Clutch is on the way out so went to see mechanic who will put a heavy duty Daiken, question him on this as never heard of them. Told me Exedy and Daiken are the same company. Trust my mechanic but is it really true. Cheers.
Exedy, daiken & protex are all the same. The only difference between a $500 h/d protex clutch & a $900 Exedy equivalent is the box. The parts shop I used to work at, when we ordered an Exedy clutch, we would get a Protex one plus an empty flatpak Exedy box to put it in.
About section on exedy.com:
Exedy - About Exedy
"EXEDY Australia Pty Ltd (formerly known as Daikin Clutch Australia & EXEDY New Zealand Limited are subsidiaries of EXEDY Corporation (Osaka, Japan)..."
Well thanks for that link, so looks like i'm going exedy/daiken.
This is handy info to know.
