It is great stuff, ran it in my subaru every month or two....you should have seen all the sh*t coming out the exhaust.

Didn't know it had much purpose on other engines as the upper engine cleaner is designed for horizontal engines that gets a build up of gunk/residue on the top side of the engine due to its unconventional layout.

your actually better of opening up the plenum on the ecotecs and having a go with a scraper first as mine was about 3-4mm thick... could have kept running that stuff through all day
great for getting down into the head though

My motor and throttle body was more or less clean what I did was run motor till hot, spray into throttle body put inlet pipe back on crank motor a bit so some of it when into the engine, spray more let sit for about 15 mins.
    Then drive away.
This weekend have done it 3 times.

Does the job on any car I reckon just about.

You can buy it from any Subaru spare parts dealer, around $15-$18 retail. This is great stuff when used as directed on the can.

Yes you spray it in a vacuum line, on a Subaru, this was harder to get an equal amount on each side of the motor unless you chose a central line.

The crap it clears is out is amazing, but I always found it best to use after the engine had been running for at least an hour so that the carbon build up was extremely hot and ready to be moved.

I have not used it on the SV6 yet, but I will be soon

I just sprayed it into the throttle body on my VR, cranked it a couple of times, let it sit a little, then ran it and far out it made a difference. There was a sh*t ton of smoke and it instantly ran smoother and even sounded better.

On a Subaru a vacuum line is safer so it doesn't kill any sensors in the throttle body, not sure on a Commodore though

could someone show where to put the can on a ecotech, thanks
Do you know where the throttle body is? If not follow the intake pipe until it connects to the motor and that's where it is. Loosen the clamp and slide off the intake pipe from the throttle body.

Spray 1/2 - 3/4 of a can in there whilst holding the throttle body open by turning the plate on the top of it. Do this with the motor off, obviously. Be careful not to breathe in the fumes.

Then kick the car over (let it try to start but not actually start by turning the key on, then quickly off, a couple of times). This sucks it into the motor.

Let it sit for a while, then start the car and give it a rev, you may need to keep your foot on the accelerator a little to stop it stalling. It may be difficult to start and run very rough, smoke may also pour out the exhaust, but this is normal and everything will be how it usually if after a few minutes then your car will probably run noticeably better.

That's what I did with my VR, I'm assuming the VT should be pretty much the same.

for the ecotecs i pulled the top vacuum hose at the back off and sprayed the bottle in there... youll need to keep the throttlebody open as well to keep the revs up otherwise its sounds like its running the mother of all cams on idle and will stall quite quickly

I might have to give this stuff a go. Best way to keep the intake clean is to fit a catch can and bypass the PCV as that is how the oil is getting into the intake

Having said that, when i did my intake manifold gaskets (160,)000km's+ I had a good look down the intake ports and things didn't look that bad. Still can't hurt to clean it out anyway.

    cheers
