Default Can i sit an engine on the ground?

I have an RB30 motor that will be here in a few hours and was just wondering if i can sit it straight on the ground? should i just sit it on the sump and can it be laid on its side? its going to have to sit there for a day or 2 while i get the other one out and i just don't want it to be ####ed by the time i put it in.

Best off getting an old tire and sitting it on that, the sump isnt hard on the ground. If your gentle and and its stable you can sit it on the sump, but would avoid it at all costs.

Yeah an old tyre (no rim ffs ) is the best way.

But you can just use a heap of old pillows or something and prop it up with bits of timber so it wont roll to one side.

couple of bits of floor joice. cut to shape you nail together a 'frame' and bolt the wood to your engine mounts.

the tyre is the best idea tho.
