do 4 into 1 extractors sit lower to the ground???

hey all my car is lowered and have been lookin at my options for an exhaust set up, Ive heard Tri Y's tuck under the car more than 4 into 1 extractors? can anyone confirm how low 4 into 1's sit? are they lower than the stock cats on a gen 3 VY? my car is lowered so dont want my exhaust scraping all the time

Most do sit lower yes. But even Tri Y's would probably hang lower than stock exhaust. Perhaps get the shorty style extractors if you are concerned

Yes they do hang lower, by how much depends on a few things, how good your engine and transmission mounts are, the brand of the extractors and how they were fitted. There is slight play on the bolt holes so when they are tightened, even 1mm movement at the head can equate to 10-20mm at the collector. Most people tighten them with the weight on the extractors, I always pull the rear up when I tighten them to get maximum ground clearance.
