VP LSD into VS

hey quick question. searched without much luck.

pretty much a guy at work may be getting a VP V8 wagon with a live rear axle with a 3.08 LSD in it.
he only wants the motor etc and has said if he does get it i could buy the whole rear assembly (trailing arms etc, even the brakes )

the only part i am really interested in is the LSD centre. will it fit and work in a VS V6 ute (series 3) with a live rear axle?
does the whole rear assembly bolt up or is it best to keep the assembly that is already on my car and just change the diff centre?

Since the Wagon/Ute Axle are the same it should bolt straight in. AFAIK there are no differences or other factors that wouldn't make it a straight bolt up job.
