Hi all, i have a 2nd gen 4runner with a vn vp v6 engine in it. the thing hammers along nicely. The setup mates the vp engine into the 4runner using all original vp loom and ecu. The car uses original ignition barrel i just have to hit the remote key to simulate the immobilizer trigging when a vn vp commo door unlocks, I would like to know if it is possible to bypass the security #$@% as my remote is dying. I have heard vn vp had a switch to do this located somewhere in the door arch, so i was just wondering if you can do this from the ecu? i dont know much about auto electrics so you will have to bare with me, but any help would be greatly appreciated,
So your using the Holden Ignition barrel?
Look up marks 4wd adapters in google.... I had to buy a module to trick the computer that it wasn't stolen ect... Bit expensive, and looking back on it all I wish I saved my money and just researched it more and wired up a loom myself....
No mate it has a stock 4runner ignition barrel, i use the remote only to bypass security so it starts.
marks 4wds have a kit to suit vs onwards but says nothing about vn vp as i assume it can be done without there mod?
Yeah it has to be possible... Pretty sure it only cuts the fuel from memory? If thats the case then just run an external pump?
the vn vp immobilyzer just bypasses the pink wire at the ecu that turns it on and off go direct from your key to the pink wire at the ecu and you will have bypassed it all

i have a vn 304 in my vl and the only wire i had to hack into was the pink wire which is anti-theft. the gear box doesn't need wiring to start so i would say find the pink wire in your engine harness and run it to ign power,
if your car is also manual should work vp engine my differ though?
I do not think so. the only light i have is the flashing security light.
Well i tried and it did not work? is it a solid pink wire or does it have stripe down it?
Yeah i did, is there any other way around it what does the security cancel out the fuel pump?
I have asked all the auto electricians in my area they don't know shit for some reason. $110 an hour its to risky
Yeah i was thinking that haha.
Well i might just isolate the fuel pump from the ecu? Maybe i could run a on off switch for the fuelpump. would that work?
VN/VP used the same ECU & basic security system.
VR onward the security is through the BCM and key reader
connect ignition +ve to terminal A6/pink wire
if that doesn't work, then you've either done something wrong or are running a VR onward ECU
And I might add both VN/VP and VR/VS disable more than the fuel pump, it disables the entire ECU. So manually switching the fuel pump won't bypass it
I see well i always thought it was vp. how can i tell by looking at either the engine or ecu?
I also have a reverse rotation engine drivin flexfan that will soon run of my waterpump, it will kill some hp but theres no room for any decent thermos.
Its crap that the overpriced auto electricians don't even know, There must be a local vn vp commo freak in the sunshine coast area willing to help?
Im no thief i paid the 2000 cash for my pos 4runner haha
middle pink wire near ecu plug pink with blue rings round it
