Hey guys,
I've only recently came across this problem, but in the front l/h corner of the car when slowing down (at like 15-10 k's, maybe slower) as the wheel goes around it makes a Woom woom woom sound, like it almost sounds like it's hitting something as it's going around but It's got me stumped.
I haven't had the wheel off yet due to not having time, but looking at it, there's nothing the wheel can hit as it's going around, the wheel nuts are done up so it's not coming off and back on making the sound.. Only thing I can think of is wheel bearings but it's not humming or making a loud sort of noise at any speed.
I'm not sure what it is, but if anyone has any idea I'll check it out when i get the wheel out. But this being said the car still drives 100% fine, it just makes that sound.
*Note: It doesn't do it all the time, everytime i get someone to try drive my car forward so i can check out the sound it doesn't do it. It only does it now and again..
Thanks![]()
I once had a similar sound and it was the brake guard plate slightly bent and rubbing on the disc?
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
Actually Nevermind.. Had another read and didnt seem the same..
Still interested about the outcome tho. :P

My car does this at the front too. Ive had a steering rack and complete brake changeover (calipers, rotors the lot) for an overhaul of the car. But the noise is still there.
When I had new tyres put onto some rims I used to have on my vr, the tyre guy said I had a very very slight buckle in one or two rims (no one else ever picked up on that in 3 tyre replacements). Ive swapped wheels front to back and still have the noise. But it drives fine and there's no tell tale tyre wear and noone else seems to hear the noise! Im starting to think maybe it is the new tyres as they all howl anyway, and theyre directional tyres, which Ive never had before? Got me buggered.
I don't know if you guys are talking the same sound as mine, but I'm surprised nonetheless.
