There is a form you can fill out off the RTA website do a quick google search was reading it the other night actually
Thanks mate i will check it out do you have the link cheers travis.
everyone asks and they get the same anwsers
1-its hard to get an exemption no matter what the reason "oh but its the only car in my whole family" they dont care...
2-you will loose your license if your on your reds or even greens plus get a fine if you get caught, plus you will always be sketching about getting caught
3-you can still try get an exemption but i can almost bet money you wont get it
Just take off the SC badges and dont do anything that will get you pulled over.
In NSW, no mate.
Having it as the only available car is not a valid reason, they will respond with "You shouldn't have bought it".
Victoria currently do allow family car exemptions, but that's not much help to you. Apart from the fact in can't be registered in your name, you insurance will probably be void if you have a prang.
Don't do it, the stock VT's have around 200hp, that's plenty to get around in.

I'll be he comes to get you, some shopping trolley kind of thing, that gets you where your going nice and slow... Well off you go that's fine, the pleasure's all mine.

no in most states with similar restrictions to vic and NSW VT/X/Y/Z supercharged commodores are all banned you can not get a exemption, to clasify as a family car it must be a statesman
And there is a thing called a search button dude try it before posting cause there is like 1000 threads on the matter
The other option is drive it on Ls and sell it i have ss's waiting for it should be getting it tommorow or sell engine and put a na in it cheers for the advice guys![]()

Sounds bad to me, get a proper inspection done. Your getting way too ahead of yourself.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
how does that sound bad???? just cause its cheap??? i bought a black wh caprice for a little over 5k does that mean its a bucket no it means i was in the right place at the right time what i would do mate is buy it tidy her up resell for a profit and buy yourself a nice v6 to drive till you get off your p's
Supercharged vt's are going for 6 to 8k average price. This is 2.5k. Do the math. It's too cheap.

VT Spacs with a Super 6 will only get cheaper in a few years, just wait.
You're not allowed to drive it, simple as that. You do this at your own risk, personally if you buy it anyway, you're a fool.

Wraith is actually $1500. i think ive figured it but drive it on my ls after that pull the charger of it put all the legal stuff back on it i and keep the charger for when i get of ps cause its a vgc s pac factory supercharged you cant even get a stocker vt for $1500 so im pritty happy for the price of this one

You can buy a $10000 with more troubles than a $1500 car! It's just a chance you take i guess..
I'd say, just remove the supercharger until your allowed to drive it.. - Swapping engines would cost more.. + wouldn't the supercharged engine last longer then a stock N/A engine?
I THINK only way you can get a exemption is that it's a business car and it's required... Don't quote me on that.. but that's what I've heard..
Swapping engines completely would probably be less work and cheaper than removing the blower and the supercharged engine would be rubbish without the supercharger because of the lower compression ratio.
Exemptions aren't necessarily for work cars. In some states there are certain cars which are V8 or supercharged which have low power to weight so P-platers can legally drive them. But they make you apply for an exemption so If you have a bad driving record or lose your license they can prohibit you from driving it. I actually think its a great Idea and gives P-platers extra responsibility and an added incentive to drive more carefully
