Noisy 6 Speed in VU SS Ute Opinions???

Hey all, just looking at buying a VU SS Ute and have stumbled among one with a "noisy 3rd and 4th gear"
is there much involved in fixing this? is it expensive? and whats the best option, 190,000kms on the car

Status engineering in Kilsyth do a change over for $1800 if you need a new box. If you need a rebuild rough cost is about $1500.

$1500? wow thats dear, is that just for the bearings? how come there so expensive?

Not being rude, but how much did you expect it to cost, $200???
These boxes were noisy from new, so maybe get someone in the know to have a look at it for you.
A mate of mine bought a new ute, and waited 7 months because he wanted a manual. Box was noisey,
dealer couldnt fix it, so he traded it on an auto. Must admit he was a fussy bugger though

Yeah mines noisey as hell, have a mate that has been noisy from new, just turn stereo up.

Flush twice and add Mainlube gear oil.

Jobe done and fixed
