I can supply genuine Tech 2 software cards for aussie GM holden vehicles, does VT to VE commodore, and a heap of other australian holden cars. These cards are brand new "genuine" Tech 2 cards from the USA, not the cheap chinese "cloned" cards that are all over ebay. Just PM me for any more details. I can also supply Australian Tech 1 cartridges from VN to VS.
(These Tech 2 cards will only work in genuine Vetronix, Hewlett-Packard, OTC or Bosch Tech 2 units, will NOT run in the cloned chinese Tech 2 units that are all over ebay). These cloned Tech 2 units from china and the like, use a "cracked" version of the genuine GM software. Ive heard that the cloned Tech 2's have already caused damage to some vehicles over in the US.Apparently they can kill the ECU or BCM etc.

Ive just found out that these genuine tech 2 software cards will indeed work in the cheap cloned tech 2 scan tool. I didnt think they would work, but I have just put a genuine card into a cloned cheap version of the tech 2 scan tool, I pluged it into a VX commodore and it worked fine.
Are you able to supply the tool as well? PM me if you prefer
i am interested in the software cards as well as scan tool
Add another who is interested in a tool and card.. Please pm with price and details.

just a quick question... how do people think they are going to load the software onto these when it out of date?
tech 2 is out of date... being replaced with the laptop late next year.
so dont see how people are going to benefit from having out of date software that causes massive problems when they try program a module... its not as easy as loading every models info on it... gotta download it from holdens technical website and load it to each car individually.
if youve got a smart phone you could buy a ELM327 bluetooth adapter and download "torque pro" and do about as much as your scan tool will... cos without the authentication and security access, you cant do anything useful
These genuine cards can be updated via TIS2WEB. I highly doubt the chinese ones can though. You have to pay for access to the Tech 2 updates of course to update the genuine cards, thats if you want or need the later releases for the VE commodore as it hasnt finished its production run yet.(as far as I know anyway) , and I doubt the cheap cloned chinese versions of the tech 2's can even connect to TIS from what Ive read. But if you own a 1996 VT to 2011 VE,and you dont want to hand over $100 or more to holden every time you need a code cleared or read etc, then these are the go.
It also allows you to read /clear ABS and SRS and BCM error codes.

not so much vt/vx 's, but vy/vz/ve's its gonna be an expensive way to check data lists...
According to the guys over in the USA where I get these holden cards from, theres already public access for TIS2WEB , so anyones now got access, thats why the holden stuff on these genuine cards is genuinly downloaded TIS holden australia software, and not hacked or cloned or copied etc.... The TIS access is not cheap, but apparently it is available in day access, week access ,monthly or yearly.
but is it public or business access? dunno how legit that sounds TBH...and also dont know how long the software program is going to be good for because tech 2 is being phased out soon
The Tech 2 will still be used for the older cars though (VT to VE). Over in the USA and Europe it will be ,so I guess Australia will follow suit.. Similar to how the Tech 1 is still used for the VN to VS models.
The GM MDI ( Multiple Diagnostics Interface) and laptop will be replacing the tech 2 for all new 2012 models I think it is.. These MDI's and laptops are already for sale on ebay for around $4000.
Will wait and see I guess... the technical trainer was saying its being phased out all together because its unreliable, and alot of them are.
Apparently the MDI package hasnt been the big fix they thought it was going to be either, they are having problems with it in the USA, problems killing ECU's when they are being reflashed with updated ECU eeprom versions etc.
Have you checked out Tech2win yet. Tech 2 interface screeen on your computer and will allow you to connect to a car via the MDI interface..Pretty interesting stuff I thought. Its to be released ,or has already been released too.
Thats what was mentioned as the tech 2's replacement, because the actual scan tool itself has too many problems... its been used by the tech trainers for years without a problem, I just dont know why it has been so long to come into use I n the workshop, would make diagnosis time so much faster.
but again, how much is it going to cost? Cos I know how much an MDI and cable is on its own....
I`m planning on keeping the vs for awhile yet.
In the long term somewhere down the track would it be better to go to a helteck computer system??????
