Default How much have you spent on your car to date?

Sorry guys if this is a re-post... Dont flame me *puts flame suit on*

But im interested in knowing (as the title says) ..How much have you spent on your car to date?

I just sat down and added up all my costs and im heading into the 8k range atm in mods... excluding the purchase price of the car ...

Starting to think i should lay off and be happy with what ive got..but i cant help myself haha

Whats the biggest bill you've racked up? How have you managed to pay for it all?

    Cheers, Al

When I had my old VZ SV6, my first car....I bought it for 23 500 and spent a total of about 9 000 on it in 3 years! Managed to sell it for 18 500 which I thought was a good deal.

Wheels- 18 inches (ROH) with Low Profile BF Goodrich tyres - 2350
    Tint- 300
Short Shifter with Gear Knob 400
    Reverse Sensors 590
    CAI 500
Exhaust System, 2.5 cat back with Stainless Steel Exhaust 1100
    VCM Performance Chip Tune 1050
    Sound System w/12-inch Subbie 1100

Needless to say I've learned from the experience, best to know when to stop!

    VS Berlina.

    Purchased car - $5200
Wheels (brand new without tyres) - $900
    Engine conversion - $8500
    First exhaust system - $900
    Current exhaust system - $585
Suspension - $900 plus I bought another 3 sets of springs before.
Stereo system - $3000 plus the stereo system I bought for it when I first purchased the car.
    Window tint- $250
LPG conversion (now removed) - $2600
First set of 17 inch wheels and tyres - $912
    Custom number plates - $495
    Reco the diff - $300
    VY SS pedals - $130
New genuine headlights - $200 plus indicators

Theres heaps more but I can't remember the prices. For example, calais door trims, chrome interior door handles, velour sun visors, just bought a calais bumper bar, driving lights, bezels, adjustable pan hard rod, genuine cold air intake and everything else.

God only knows how much money I have spent on my cars, but its just going to keep going, it will never end.

How do I pay for it all? My boss pays for everything and I pay him back as much as I can whenever I can.

I have spent nothing bar fuel on my GTS, but my ute is another matter Just blew the engine a couple of weeks ago, and estimate around $14,000 to get it back on the road.

I don't know where to begin probably around the 15-20k mark after 2 lots of suspension then going coilovers 2 sets of wheels including ones with semislicks. Full exhaust, two Otr's ,two sets of extractors (too low for public roads in general). And the bits sitting in the shed including a turbo and heads and cam waiting to go on. Plus over 40k for the car.

I'm afraid if I add up all of it then I might cry but oh well.

I've spent about $3500 on suspension and components alone. But it steers and handles like a new VT.

at the end of the day i really dont think it matters how much money you spend on your car.. if you work hard and earn your money and modding your car makes you happy then blow it all :P

and ive spent nothing on my car, already had most things i wanted.
