since the day i bought the car the steering has been lighter on one side and would get stuck at full lock when turning right.
it gradually got worse to the point where i couldn't keep the car in a straight line, i got under the car and couldn't find anything unusual.
the next day i took it to the mechanic who i got to do the roady when i first bought it, i told him i wanted all the suspension and steering checked when i picked the car up he told me he gave it a wheel alignment and said he couldn't find a problem with the suspension or steering.
this is what i found today.
i feel very lucky that i found this before it came out and i crashed or killed somebodyy
I'd be looking for a new mechanic.
I would believe it, I had my VS in the shop of a well known VS racer/mechanic and after several bushes and a wheel alignment I drove the car home and the noise was still there, I found the LH ball joint floating around in the breeze.
Technically, they shouldn't have let the car out of the workshop with that tyre on it. If you have the receipt still, you can go to vicroads and show them, then vicroads can make that workshop fix everything for free (new tyre, etc). But when it comes to it, I would rather do the work myself, then I know that its been done, and done properly.
NSW have them every year with the rego... dont think any other state doesAm I the only one who sees this as a good argument for regular inspection, like we have for WOF/COF in NZ?
