Hey i don't know if this posted before so i'm just going to do it again...
I'm a p-plater looking for a commodore. I came across a 2001 commodore VX S and im a bit confused...do all S types have superchargers? Because on the sellers description, he says there is a supercharger in the car however he clarifies that further down and he says there is actually no supercharger...Any ideas on whether this car is p-plate friendly? In nsw btw,
Cheers.
I beleive most S commodores were not supercharged, as this was an optional extra. The only difference I believe is the S has fe2 sports suspension (the suspension may also be an optional extra I'm not sure about this one) and a body kit.
So yes it is legal to drive on your p plates. Any petrol car with forced induction is not legal in nsw though.
As Robb said, the Super6 was an option on the VX S. Your best bet is to go and have a look and pop the bonnet. If you see a supercharger there, you can't drive it, if you don't see one, you can.

I have a friend that drove around in a bf xr6t (removed the turbo badging) for 2 years until he got off his p's, never got caught. I wouldn't have bothered risking my licence though lol
thanks for the advice, looks like i'll be getting one!
