Hey guys
So ive found a HZ ute with a 308 and a supra 5 speed, Im still on my P's only for another 6 months, So im wanting to buy the ute and put a 202 in for short term and then put the 8 back in, Ive got a supra 5 speed with a 202 bellhousing, so im thinking i can swap the bellhousings and put the 202 in, are the input shafts different lenght size or spline? and will i need to modify the tail shaft?
cheers
Inputs are different. Getting an 6 cyl motor and box would cost nearly nothing these days. As easy conversion as you can get.

You pose an interesting question, one I have never considered, mostly due to usually I am ripping 202's out.
AFAIK all the input shafts and splines are the same length on the toyota boxes so for the engine mounts to line I would assume the tailshaft needs shortening. You will also have to replace the clutch etc as the 6cyl one is smaller.
Have a look at the Castlemaine Rod Shop web site . They might be able to help you out
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
For 6 months, why not buy it. And put the ute aside until you can buy it. I know you seem to have your heart set on it. But. For the amount of effort, time and money you'll spend i personally cant see it being worth it.

I agree with the above two posts and was going to say the same thing. Buy the ute, put it in the shed and do some work to it and buy or continue to drive a shitbox until you are off your P's.
