Default VE battery changeover urgent help!

I did post this elsewhere but no replies, I would like to urgently replace both batteries as the engine battery is flat.
Two batteries because it is a VE Omega Police Pack.

    OLD BATTERIES
    WD AG9 /CA
    12V
    Silver Calcium Alloy Battery
    Reserve Capacity 120min
    CCA Rating 600 Amp
    20hrs capacity 70 AH

    NEW BATTERIES
    ACDelco Model S57220
    12V 72AH 120min RC
360 DIN CCA 640 SAE CCA

    MY CONCERNS
    Is this a suitable replacement?
Ive noticed these dont have the air tube/vents? So sealed maintenance free batteries don't need them? No risk of fumes?

I don't understand why you need help.... If that new battery is the one thats recommended for a VE Omega then it will be fine, not all batteries have that air tube, they have a small hole somewhere around the top or they don't have anything. I would just fit the battery if I was you.

if they dont have a hole you need to drill one... i recommend at least a 25mm hole saw to make sure you get enough air flow

Thanks, I ended up reading more about Sealed Maint Free batteries... simple case of being cautious because its easier said than done

If your not aware both batteries are in the boot. There are plenty of electrical items around... my sound system, solenoids etc. Last thing I need is a flammable gas.

My stock battery had a little tube and the one I replaced it with was recommended for the VE, it was maintenance free and has a little hole at the top.

If it was a fire hazard or a problem they would not stick batteries in the boot, espeically above the fuel tank. Nothing like driving down the road minding your own business and BOOM! you take out half the block.
