Would anyone know why I have a badge 'traveller' on my HZ kingswood? It's a black badge thats on the boot of the car, It looks like it's supposed to be there. Is it an actual badge for the car? or did someone just glue it on?
Also did the car have rear suspension that you can raise and lower with compressed air?
I've been into Kingswoods, premiers etc all my life and I've never heard of a 'Traveller' edition.
If it has pump ups, have a look for an air valve, usually, but not always in the boot.
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
Dealerships often used to option some cars up and call them different things. Maybe the dealership that originally sold that car fitted a towbar and air shocks to target grey nomads with caravans and called it a traveller.
It wouldn't have been factory.
Pump up shocks, have a look and see if there is thin hose coming from the shocks, if so trace it to where the valve is.
As for the badge I'm with VYmad, never heard of one but you could try this site. OldHolden.com | Old Holden Internet Resource
Ditto. Never heard of a Traveller. It was most likely a local dealer pack, a bit of small scale marketing. Or someones idea of customising.
I'd agree with the dealer pack thing. Pretty common back in the day. Air shocks were all the rage haha. My LH had them in it when I got it.
Oh cheers guys, interesting. Well It did have the pump up shocks at one point of it's life, had a valve in the boot but the hose was just going to no where (cut) .. I believe it's riding on Koni's ATM. so yeah. Thanks guys![]()

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
I sware i've seen that badge on a kinswood somewhere. Sounds like the very first attempt at what later became the Vacationer on the Commodore.
There was a Kingswood Vacationer in 1972, long before the Commodore.
I've had a Kingswood wagon with those dodgy under dash A/C too, they do look like an afterthought. It wasnt a Traveller or a Vacationer though. I've still never heard of a Traveller, maybe you have something collectable![]()
It doesn't look like the Holden badges of that era, definitely not factory.
Air con was never a factory fitted option either, was always fitted by the dealerships, thus some cutting of the dash/console area was required.
