Help with wheel studs

Can anyone give me info on wheel stud sizing, and how to tell what size i have.

I require 5 New Wheel studs for my swiftco Jetski trailer and dont know what size to order.

remove stud.
take it to a local "anywhere that has bolt sizings" (for me thats Bursons they have them all on a rack) and screw it into a few holes and see which one it is.
measure the length of the studs and purchase accordingly.
anything else use a ruler or verniers.
