Hey Guys,
*puts on flame suit as a safety precaution*
I have a VT V6 and I'm getting an electric exhaust cut out installed in my car.
Reason being: I had a loud exhaust set up before, gone quieter now, miss the stupid loudness (at high revs it used to hit 122dB)
Where would be the best place to put my cut out if i just want stupid loudness, and does anyone know the dB level it'd make?
System as stands = hurricane extractors> 200cell hiflo cat > centre hotdog > rear suppressor
OLD LOUD SYSTEM = hurricane extractors> 200cell hiflo cat > centre hotdog > dump after rear wheel (end of cabin)
I'm thinking for the old sound itd be just after the hotdog?
Thoughts and ideas![]()
i will just say this before everyone else comes on
drop and 8 in it, cam it and you will be happy :P
Starin at the world through my rearview
Go on baby scream to God, he can't hear you
I can feel your heart beatin fast cause it's time to die
Gettin high, watchin time fly
If you want it stupidly loud, then just after the cat would be the way to go. But it will sound like a tractor.
It will sound like a tractor and people will think your a wanker. Also the cops will have a field day on your car.

The hotdog will take the edge off it and will sound less like a tractor, so yes, just after the hotdog would be better.
Depends where you put the DB meter should be nearly the same. So glad school holidays are over soon.

The exhaust system on my VS is stupidly loud, don't know why they let it drive out of the workshop like that, i'm thinking of making it a bit quieter but I don't drive it very much (or at all) lately so I haven't worried about it. Not sure what the DB is but it is loud when taking off and changing through the gears, but just cruising at 100-110km/h on the highway you can't even hear it.

19 mate, 3rd year out of school working full-time as a manager in a company... It's alright for you to try to be a smart ass though, i mean wanting a car to be louder for the pure sake of it is stupid and there for makes me a moron child right?
I'd say if anyone should be the one being baby talked it's you mate, a smart man wouldn't get his faps off over his own juvenile comments and assumptions (y) cheers
EDIT: Anyone else have opinions or system on their own? at the moment looks like the cut out will be after my centre hotdog![]()
If you want loud get a cannon :P i dont really like loud 6s. a 2/5 inch ftw.
lol a cannon wouldnt make my system now louder than it is haha im pretty sure the cut out should get me my old sound back and maybe a bit more. my old dump sound was but a foot earlier ... lol

After your first muffler should in theory make the sound identical to as b4...
I'm not a fan if loud sixes, although I had a twin tb v6 that was loud"ish" and it sounded good... Mind you it took 4 exhaust set ups of different cats, mufflers and pipes plus the engine work to make it ok.
I got commented in its sound by several.
I guess my point is v6s don't sound good by nature bud, it takes slot of work! so give it a good amount of thought..
Btw If u want STUPIDLY LOUD just drop after cat..
My 2c is don't waste your cash bud.
Wanted to buy VC sunroof
Pm me
Why do you care what reading it will put out on a dB metre?

I reckon the best place for the cut out would be after the 2nd resonator... right below the rear bumper is where people usually put it
If you were happy with the noise level before you had the rear muffler - than that's obviously your answer of where to put it
