Fuel light keeps coming on

Hi

New to the site and looking for help.

Although the VS 2000 ute I have just bought for my son has fuel in it, the fuel light keeps coming on ??? The guage works and indicates over half a tank (we put about $60 worth in)

Any ideas

I'm going to take a random guess, do they have a fuel sender switch or something along those lines? It could be that.. Happens with the motorbikes at my work.

It does sound like a faulty sender unit, something for the auto electrician I would think.

Are the sender units in the tank or external ?
