Hi All,
I Have a VZ SS with the last of the LS1 engines. Its supercharged and cammed, i was wondering if the 6.0lt heads will fit on the 5.7lt, direct bolt on.
I can get some 6.0lt heads cheap..
Any info would be good.
Thanks
only if they're the cathedral port heads
Standard LS1 241/899 sits around 10.1:1 (66cc)
LS6/LS2 243's for increased compression up to 10.6:1 (64cc)
you can use 317's which may work more in your favour as they sit around 70cc - get these CNC'd and up the boost...
Ok, which year model is the 317's off? What if i can get a manifold for the rectangle ports?
Thanks for the info
317's are truck heads (US) which I believe is the only cathedral port head still in production (I think) as 243's have been discontinued due to the Gen IV motor and the rectangle heads having far superior flow.
LS3/L98Rectangle heads don't fit due to the larger valves which would hit the chamber walls on LS1/LS6
If your set on rectangle heads that fit on LS1 you can get these from Mast Motorsports which have a 2.040 valve, then you will need LS3/L98 manifold/ 4 bolt electric throttle body, possibly fuel rails and an Xlink throttle adapter from TorqueRush
