white smoke coming from side of my engine on the drivers side under the extractors vs

hey guys ive just put my car back together new engine 50,000 k's on this bad boy and ive noticed now when it start and runs for about 30 seconds.. smoke starts to come out from under my extractors somewere ive had a look but not sure were.. not sure if it's oil.. or power steering fluid as my power steering pipe isnt put back on yet.. stupid position to get to lol but there shouldn't be any fluid in that.. it's not coolant.. doesnt smell like it anyway, kinda smelled like oil but im not quite sure anymore as it doesnt really have a smell to it.. any help guys? vs commodores any help would be great dont wanna get raped a new arm and leg from the local racq.. talk about bein ripped off.. tried to charge me 150 bucks.. just to put in brake pads cause i had no time.. told them to #### off and did it myself lol

rocker cover leaking maybe?

i would finish the power steering, degrease and pressure clean the engine bay then run the car til the smoke shows then turn it off and use a good torch to search for the source of the fluid.

much easier to trace leaks on a freshly cleaned bay.

yeah ive got like a day to figure out the problem.. before the roadworthy guy comes problems always happen when somethin important comes up lol, gonna put the ps on bleed that clean the piss outta it and see how that goes.. hopefully i find the problem cheers mate

it could be one of fifty thing and i dont know if this will help, but when my starter moter went at one stage i started my car and smoke came out of the top of my engine from about the same spot your talking about, does your car struggle to start at all? just a thought
