    Default Personalized Plate

    Hi guys,

Any suggestions for a personalized plate for my VY V6. I've just finished paying it off on lay-bye but am having second thought.

    Current idea was : C0M0DR
Other idea was : COMMMY , COMNHR

Any ideas? I quite like COMODR because I love them and my next car is sure to be a V8 so that's fine.

    Thanks for the help!

Yeah I've been told that exact thing before Jono :P I like it cause it's simple and you know exactly what it mean, and I like the word too. I don't really like the cryptic ones you can't understand. I'm warming up to Commmy, cause it's a little bit more unique...

My opinion, don't get a personalised plate. Anything other than the old initials and year of birth is a bit of a wank - again, just my opinion.

I don't know what it costs for plates in NZ, but in NSW some personalised plates are $400+ per year, which is the same values as my car... so for me it's a no.

Suggestions, apart from BEL*END would be something like C0M0DR or H0LD3N or something if you really want. And I just checked MC*1991 is taken! I'll have to pick another plate if I get them personalised :P

At the end of the day, if you want some plates go get them, but make sure they are something you like not what randoms on the internet like.

Thanks Mike. Yeah I understand that, I wasn't asking you to decide for me, just some idea. In NZ it's $800 for the plate, one off charge. Then you can resell the plate if you want on TradeMe etc. too.

    Appreciate the input =)

And 'walesy' - I would never get a plate like 'VYV6', those are just horrible

Why would you want the number plates to tell people its a Commodore when it has badges and body styling to do that? Unless you think of something different it's a waste of money IMO.

Plates on a car, telling you what car it is, is just so ####ing stupid. Yes we can see its a commodore. You waste hundreds of dollars a year telling us something which the manufacturer puts on the car for free (or the cost of mass producing badges which works out to be #### all)

So is paying $400+ for plates on a car which has nothing special about it. For example yesterday i saw 'CU2NYT' on a Honda Accord. And 'SX2NYT' on some hatchback.

People like that have more money than brains.

I'm the opposite, I reckon the initials/birthdate ones are boring, unimaginative and maybe even a touch vain...
Mine is nothing special (I was restricted to 3 letters 2 numbers or vice-vera), but 'INJ82' says something about the car and that's what I wanted it to do.

I love a well thought out personalised plate. I've seen some really good ones, and yeah some really bad ones.
To the OP, I'd probably go with the COM0DR (kind of generic but not bad). But if it were me, I'd be trying to think of something that's a little more unique to your individual car.

See my sig...I got it cuz I thought it looked cool in the slimline plate short number.

Best part is it's not considered personalized so no extra paid.

I laughed when I saw a Toyota Celsior with CUL8R plates broken down on the side of the road.
