Nothing on radiator mounts either.

Dunno about SA, but here in VIC the VIN is also on the rego sticker and papers.
Man just slap a hairdryer on the side and that thing would haul arse (for what it is). Power to weight.
So.. My 253 has done 400,000kms plus.
Datsun has done roughly 200,000
253 - 100kw
Datsun - 72kw
Yet the 253 feels like a blown big block compared to this lil 4cyl.
I NEED more power![]()

Bridge ported, 48IDA Webber fed 13B rotary. Luv dat brap brap brap.
I need a reliable motor too >.<
If such a thing exists? A reliable motor with reasonable power?
I wouldn't mind having my little Datsun keeping up with v6 commodores

Would a rb30 fit?
Since there's a defected VL on every street corner I'd think it'd be a reasonable cheap conversion?

Drop a V6 in it then.
I dont know why you would want to "keep up" with a V6... thats not hard, busses take off with more assertion compared to V6 commodores.
Yes, we all know how pathetic V6 commodores can be lol.
And for my lil daily datsun I think V8's are out of its range.

After a lil google.. Being a straight six the rb30 won't fit :/

i had a mate with a bluebird which had an FJ20T in it (bit prehistoric now a days) but that thing was a freakin rocket... LOVED hi revs!
Just SR it, even non turbo would go orrite!
SR is now the plan.. Just gotta find the money considering I'm about to jump into an apprenticeship ( boiler maker/fitter and turner ).
I'm sorry to keep bringing this thread up but I don't like other forum community's so I'm sticking to this one! Regardless the car.
I was down repco yesterday having a chat to the staff, we rung king springs to talk about lowering the Datsun. Apparently they're a real pain. KingSprings only make a 'low' spring for it because any lower and the story is that the spring just falls out?
My goal is tyre height all round.. But it sounds like its going to be a challenge. Any Datsun gurus out there that can share some tips?

I know with the bluebird (not 100% sure on this car sorry) you could put silvia front struts in with minor modifications, Theres bound to be a vehicle out there that would make it an easy adjustment.
