    Question Shift kit installation prices

    Hey guys,

Just bought myself a Transgo shift kit for the VX and rang up the local auto transmission shop to get a price on putting it in, and I got quoted $350...

This seems a little steep to me, is that the case or am I just a tightarse? Can anyone recommend any places in Ipswich/South Brisbane that could get the job done for a bit cheaper than $350?

    Cheers

$350 is cheap. I got quoted around $500 last time I asked.

Wow, was that purchasing the kit from them or just for them to install it?

Yeah that sounds like a pretty reasonable price

I've read through the instructions enough times and I just cant bring myself to do it myself incase I mess something up, hopefully I find somewhere a bit cheaper.

I have been quoted $440 to get 2nd and 4th servo pistons installed along with a longer pin and also a stage 2 trans-go shift kit + a service after (should always be done) all parts will be supplied by me except for the trans oil.

They supply the kit and a transmission oil + filter change. Which they will do when they take the valvebody.

Got another quote for $350, but this second place was alot more helpful and they provide a loaner car while the work is being done. Just going to pay the $350 and be done with it.
