NEED HELP! Manual Gearbox

My 5 speed V6 gearbox is noisy as hell in low revs. its almost like a grinding sound when you miss a gear..
wondering what the hell it could be so i have an idea on how much time and effort it is going to be to fix.

Tighten up the clutch cable and see how it goes then might also be the linkages

drop your oil and have a look for any metal particles in it... new oil usually helps quieten it down to so might be a good place to start
