Can't be much help in spotting it as I am in Sydney, but if you put some pictures up mate - it'll really help those in Victoria, there are heaps of members who are.
Best of luck mate, hope you find it.
The New Ride - The Class 2 Shuttle Craft (VE)
I'll be he comes to get you, some shopping trolley kind of thing, that gets you where your going nice and slow... Well off you go that's fine, the pleasure's all mine.
When I light the nitro on my HQ 454 Monroe!
Whaaat? I thought these things were near on theft proof? Best of luck finding it and your tools mate!
hate leaving the keys in the ignition![]()
stroking is fine but id rather be blown
Bit bigger picture will help or atleast of the trailer as that will be about the only thing they could sell off in a hurry and can I guess and say it was on site with the keys in it ?
I'm sorry to be a prick but.. who leaves keys in a VE SSV?
That's like 3years wage for me![]()
Current project; VH SL/X known as "NFNSUS"Ready for a overhaul due to licence issues
It only takes one second to grab the keys out of the ignition, usually in the same preset body movement as "take seat belt off, put car in park, handbrake, grab keys"...
Don't want to sound like a ####, but if you left the keys in the ignition then you kinda deserved it to happen...would you leave $50,000 in cash unattended? Nope, you wouldn't, but you stick it on wheels and you don't think twice about it. Unless you didn't leave the keys in the ignition and they used some form of magic to steal it, then that sucks and we should resume witch/wizard burning asap, but that's unlikely.
I maybe blind, but where does th OP say he left the keys in it?
he didnt say, post #4 just assumed, hope you find it in one piece mate
Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
When I get money I'll be getting gps hardwired in my car
How else do you steal a VE SSV without the keys?
Those that think a VE is 'unstealable', you have rocks in your head.
Get some better pics up!
Will keep an eye out in the eastern suburbs
Hope you have insurance on your tools they would cost as much as the ute.
Anything can be stolen. But it's not like it's walk up pop a few wires and off you go (Hollywood style). This sounds like one very experienced crew. If they didn't flat bed it like a repo job. then the other option is they have some friends in higher places for help.
Check around where you left it. Ask about flat bed trucks and tow trucks. If anyone has seen trucks lingering or heard something ask about cars towing trailers at the sometime. The flat bed trucks can't take that load away alone, there had to be a back up car to tow the trailer. Unless they drove the ute and trailer away.

Thanks to all for the posts. Yes most of you are right I did leave the keys in the car, Fu@#in stupid i know and believe me I have learnt my lessen the hardest way! To my defence the car was parked in the driveway on
private property which is a building site I am working at (I'm a chippy). Now the keys were not left in the ignition but in the centre console which means this low life has jumped inside looked around and found them then driven straight off. I had to unload timber that arvo so it was backed in, just making everything so easy for the prick, and i was at the site inside the job no more than 40 mins with 4 other tradies who were all leaving at various
times. This ballsy prick has managed to pick his window of time perfectly with no one seeing a thing and by the time i came out to leave no sign of both car and trailer.
It basically comes down to common sense in the end, lock everything always and don't trust anyone!
I had a little info off my eastlink account which stated the car went through eastlink at the Thompsons Rd/Frankstone Fwy and back the other side within 16mins @ 4:20 AM, this was last Thurs. Please keep the posts
coming and anyone around this area let us know if you hear or see anything. Thanks heaps!
Trying to organise more pics too just struggling a little as I cant find all that many. Cheers again.

Not only lock your car if you can afford it later down the track get gps fitted its easier to find
They should really extend OnStar out to Australia.
The new viper setups I've been reading have gps capabilities and if you get the right module you can track it from an iPhone I'll be getting it for mine later on
so it was unlocked, with the keys in it, for 40mins?! geez id expect it to be stolen. life lessons (y)
