I have read numerous threads about tapping noises in various models; however, they seem to refer to cold start ups and/or constant taps.
My 2007 VE Calais V8 is fine on the coldest of start ups, only to tap fairly loudly at about 5mins/5kms into my journey.............It speeds up with accelleration but goes away completely after about 2 mins.
Oil levels are fine and surely if it was lifters or suchlike it would be heard at start up?
Any ideas before I confront a mechanic.
