OK, here's the go. My son bought a VZ tonner second hand with 146,000 on the clock. Ever since he bought it, he's had nothing but trouble -new clutch, etc, etc. But the main problem was the fact that it would only hold 47 litres of fuel, maximum when the gauge was on empty.
So... back to dealer under used car warranty countless times. They did this and did that, on the seventh time back to the dealer, they installed a brand new fuel tank, then had the local Holden dealer re-calibrate it.
Ok- got it back and Holden had told the dealer that due to the fuel pump setup, 47 litres is the maximum that can be put into the 75 litre tank. WTF?
The dealer has now offered to swap my son's tonner for another vehicle of same value..
My question is; do the standard utes (not one tonner) have this problem? He wants a ute that will hold 75 litres of fuel just like his VT sedan and my VY sedan do, as he needs to be able to do long trips. He's thinking VU or VY. Thanks for any help guys.
