Hey guys I got a loud metal scraping noise from the back passenger wheel area, I just recently changed my rotors and pads and adjusted my handbrake.
It kind of sounds like a coke can is going crazy, it stops at times and comes back? I had a look that one of the pads had some play in it, but don't know how to tighten it. But I don't think it sounds like that, I replaced my front wheel bearings but could back ones make a noise like that?
I'm thinking more of the lines of the handbrake assembly, maybe something loose in there. Anyone else experienced this?
Cheers
you may have over adjusted the handbrake.
try backing the handbrake off a bit and see if the noise disappears.
Failing that, I'd be pulling the rear rotors off and inspecting the handbrake shoes for any stray parts. The handbrake shoes have retaining clips that can fall off, which would make the kind of noise you are referring to if they are spinning around loose inside the rotor
I will have a look in the morning I hope it's just a case of handbrake shoes, cheap replacement.
