    Just want to know a bit about this carby.
    Rochester quadrajet 17059595
    1803
    Wot year it is and wot car it came from, auto or manual.

    Thx NAAF. Least I know it's from a blue. But iv learnt that 17059595 was on HQ,J,X,Z red's aswel that's y I want to know wot the 1803 means??

    Yes, it should be at the base of the barrel somewhere.

    Apperently the 1803 is the date stamp in Julian, 180 being the day of the year, 180 of 365, and 3 is the year, so my guess would be its 30th June 1983.

    That is the series of the carb, from '65-'75 it was a 4M, from '75 to about '82 or '83 I think, it change to the M4M then after that it was the E4M. The difference is the choke and butterfly shaft. They aren't interchangeable.

    Just found more info that contradicts the 1803 date, this new info tells me that it is a 1979 4BBL out of a manual. But it is an American site, so it is probably the original destination for the carby but it was used on something different over here. I would still go by the info that it is a 1983 blue motor carby.
