Excuse my ignorance NAAF but wot do u mean. Should that b on the carby sumwhr.
Yes, it should be at the base of the barrel somewhere.
Apperently the 1803 is the date stamp in Julian, 180 being the day of the year, 180 of 365, and 3 is the year, so my guess would be its 30th June 1983.

Thx mate, very helpful. Tho there is no M4M or E4M I can c. Wot do they mean anyway.
That is the series of the carb, from '65-'75 it was a 4M, from '75 to about '82 or '83 I think, it change to the M4M then after that it was the E4M. The difference is the choke and butterfly shaft. They aren't interchangeable.
Just found more info that contradicts the 1803 date, this new info tells me that it is a 1979 4BBL out of a manual. But it is an American site, so it is probably the original destination for the carby but it was used on something different over here. I would still go by the info that it is a 1983 blue motor carby.
