Hi Guys, I'm thinking of buying a used VZ Commodore with 24200kms on the clock but it hasn't had the 22500km service yet. If I bought it and had the service done straight away, do you think the manufacturer's warranty would still be ok?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

get it serviced straight away. if they give it a clean bill of health then they shouldn't be able to come back later and say "ooh we knew it was going to blow up, sorry no warranty".
Welcome to the Madhouse, mate..... and yea, like Jules said.......![]()
Thanks guys. I think I will go ahead with the sale then. The car is in top condition but don't want to buy an 05 model if it has already voided it's warranty.
Don't forget, the mechanic servicing it simply may not have reset the service reminder. Or perhaps the service was carried out a little before it was due..Originally Posted by Jimbo OZ

I'd suggest having a read of the books..
Thanks for the tip. The service reminder has actually been removed from the screen in the car but I noticed in the books that the 22500 service has not been stamped.Originally Posted by shounak
the book stamp is what counts. you can reset the service alarm yourself.
Just got a four quotes from various Holdens dealers on servicing mine. I'm still in shock. Servicing costs more than a BMW 3 Series or Audi A4 across the board.
My advice is to find the cost of the service and deduct from sale price accordingly.
Oh and make sure you transfer the warranty into your name after purchase.
You dont need to do the 22500 km service or infact any of the 7500km service intervals. These are only if the vehicle has been driven in harsh conditions. You can safely disguard this service interval and carry onto the 30k service as these things and vy i think? have 15k intervals. unless ofcourse there are any signs that it has been treated harshly or in harsh conditions eg. dusty air filter, black oil etc.
cheers, stew
Apparently Holden dealers enter services on a nation wide database. This can be accessed by any service department (Holden of course) and they can tell you when it was last done by an authorised service centre, if that helps.
Just had my 40k service done today and they were scratching their heads to why it was done every 10k instead of the standard 15 or something. I just said who cares, give me the bill and left but yeah anyway.
camvyss, as its a V8 its service interval is 10k
Rob
Yeah I have no idea, the little reminder thing comes up and I take it in. Good to know it's 10k though will make it easier to not plan huge trips before that rolls around.
Side note, got her back and found the car in PWR mode missing almost a quarter of a tank and the fuel usage sitting at 27.8L/100Km and an extra 36Km on the dial. In short someone was fanging the shite out of my car. I let them know just how unimpressed I was with that little doosey.
camvyss how u going? i took my car for the first service today to holden. I told them not to take the car for a road test and they write it down on the job sheet. And they are not allowed to take your car. If they have to test drive your car u have every right to go with the tech who is driving your car. Because at the end of the day they really coulndnt give a crap about our pride and joys.
