Its just that.. If the vehicle is a commercial/corporate/company owned and you are in fact the driver in question, yes nominate yourself and the infringement with then be mail to your home address. Then you can make your dispute known.
I just received the Traffic infringement notice but its only the letter to nominate the driver of the vehicle at the time.
VicCop should I nominate myself first and then wait for the actual infringement notice before I ask for an official warning instead of the fine? On this letter it says:
NOTE: Payment cannot be made on this Corporate Notification, as no monetary penalty/Infringement Notice has been issued at this time.
Let me know where I should go with this.

Hi just a quick question id like to ask if its ok,
My question is, i recntly got my car impounded for a reason im not so sure about so i thought i like to try ask on here for some clearing up.
Now i just recently got my lisence back a month ago and vicroads has notfied me that ill be suspended on the 20th of augest for 2 years because of my derimt points, which i understood reason why i was on my way to hand in my lisence.
On my way to hand in my license i got pulled over, for a random check now the copper asked for my license and i handed it to him after doing some checks they told me my lisence was suspended, which i knew which is why i was on me way to hand in me lisence.
Now because i was kinda driving un license the copper said under the HOON law they have the rights to impound my car for 72 hours, before when i beeen caught unlisence they never impounded my car, so my question is, is it the new law now that they impound your car for unlicense driving or was i just bad luck to get a real arse copper.
are you serious?
1st thoughts are... how did you plan on getting home after you 'handed your licence in'?
my mate was coming to drive the car i just needed to get to viccroads, anyways can anyone answer me question
yh i know i cant drive the car if no lisence im just asking if thats the new hoon law, No license means car impounded
LMFAO!! I would think its a joke :P caaf proceeds to chop the legs off of the high horse.
Cheers,
Dave
i was just thinking to myself the other day, as its illegal to use phone etc while driving because of the distractions, is it illegal to be playing with a trip computer while driving or climate control?
cars these days have that many features that can cause distractions its not funny. to just concentrate on the ones not built into a car is missing a big chunk of the people not paying the full attention to the road.
also, do you think that one day that car manufacturers will make it so the electronic stuff (cd player, trip computers) can only be adjusted when the car is stationary and handbrake on? makes you wonder.
You're obviously referring to a ticket being issued to a car registered to a corporate body, or company. If you were the driver, then yes nominate yourself. When the ticket itself arrives, deal with it as you wish.
Cars can be impounded not just for 'hoon' related offences (speed, improper use) but also for driving whilst disqualified/suspended if there's a finding of guilt for driving when suspended/disqual after July 2006. They say it's pursuant to hoon laws because it came in with those changed.
There's no specific offence for playing around with the various gadgets we have in cars these days. However if adjusting the aircon, punching something into the GPS or changing CDs affects your ability to maintain control of the car then that puts you into the general bracket of 'Careless Driving'.
short question
what are the fines, demerit points for being caught driving a turbo on your green p's?

I am not sure if this has been asked before.
If my car looses traction in the wet would this be considered hoon driving by the police.

So on the infringement notice he put me down for 145km/h, which is exactly 35km/h over the limit and an automatic suspension of my licence for 6 months. This is on top of any demerit point suspensions, of which I am currently on a 12 month bond for (and fingers crossed, nearly finished it).
I thought it was common practice to knock off 2km/h off the speed you are caught at, meaning it would be 144 or 147. I know that the angle at which the radar gun points to its target affects the accuracy of the reading, so put simply, the further away from the roadside the reading is taken from, the more inaccurate it is.
Also, does anyone know the top speed of a Toyota Commuter? I didn't know they could go that fast.
The policeman was nice enough to not have the vehicle impounded due to "technical difficulties" and the fact that we were on the calder in Kyneton. What a top bloke (sarcasm)
Because the car was not impounded I did not have to go to court he said and therefore none of these points that I have made would have been addressed.
I know what I did was wrong, but at the end of the day 1km/h was the differnce between a 6 month suspension + 4 months or the 12 month bond that i took AND a 3 month suspension or a 12 month bond, which would have been a whole lot easier on me.
Also, in order to pay the fine, I sent the infringement notice in, so I now have no record of it.
When you speed, you run the risk of getting caught. When you get caught, you man up and deal with it.
If you had genuinely not been speeding, i could see a problem, but you were speeding, so thats the end of the story.

Already have sucked it up guys, I did my 6 months and regretted speeding every single day of it. I'm after some useful information, not a bunch of people telling me that I shouldn't have been speeding in the first place. I've already heard enough of that don't you think-
