I wanted to turn right, and at first glance I saw that there was a green straight through, and no red right arrow. So I got closer to the intersection, then saw that the only reason there was no red right arrow was because the damn thing was broken. I saw the red arrow on one of the other light poles and managed to stop just before the line, very nearly locked up the brakes on that one.
haha I was caught in a situation similar to this one.. turning left at a set of lights with a green light and the only arrows were orange and red. The orange arrow had gone out, so there I was turning left with a green light and then BAM! a red arrow from nowhere.

Can't be done. There's County Court case law to say otherwise.

Same situation occurred here in Victoria. The driver was completely asleep, in the driver seat, keys in the ignition and engine running.

He was charged with drink driving (being in charge). The driver appealled it at County Court where the judge deemed that a person who is asleep cannot be 'in charge'.

Like i said before, there must be more to the story. They wouldn't arrest you just because theres finger prints in your car (or was it someone elses car you were just conveniently locking for them?)

I dont see how this lawyer is shit. The person in this case was not charged. A good lawyer indeed if they have set a precedent.

If you are locking someones car I'm not sure how you could leave fingerprints inside the car. ( apart from the interior door lock )

depends how fast you were going and if they caught you for speeding or careless driving

i got a year suspension, 1000 fine, ordered to do a defensive driving course and also must abide by a good behavior bond for 1 year

they didn't get me for speeding, just the improper use of a motor vehicle and conduct in street racing (we wern't actually dragging but under the hoon laws that's how they saw it), but i didn't admit to anything at all.

Hey mate, was wondering if you could clear up a few questions for us reguarding these mystical fantasy "cop chips" that so many people think Police cars have that gives them 1000rwkw's.....It's in the new tuning section of the forum...:

Are Ex or Current Cops cars equipped with a modifed chip?

I'm no expert mechanic but an engine is an engine. Putting some little chip in somewhere isn't going to magically turn it into some turbo charged V8.

The story is complete crap. Our cars are as standard as they come. It's the people driving them who have better skill and experience than anyone else You also have to consider the reason why that cop car can roar past you is because the driver doesn't own it, doesn't care about what engine damage they're doing so they don't mind flooring it, keeping in 2nd while doing 120.

The department isn't going to spend on 'modifications' for cars that are perfectly good for their intended purpose.

Victoria Police in particular won't equip me with an up to date firearm or a taser. Do you really think they're going to give us quicker cars?

I've got a question to do with nitrous oxide systems. If I have a nitrous system installed in my car, but no nos bottle anywhere near the car, can i get booked for having a nitrous system? I've heard a hundred different stories but not from anyone with any real knowledge about it.

I was pulled over for no reason (And i dont mean indenial doing 140 in a 50 zone no reason) driving normally not speeding no loud music, the cop pulls me over and starts picking on me, why do you have an airfreshner in your mirror, measures my sticker at the back of my car to see if its a inch to big, checks my engine for aftermarket parts (had none) goes into my boot pulling up my carpet ect. and then finally i get a fine of $260 and 3 points for failure to display p plates - but it was her fault it was ascue as she lifted up the hatch and of course it moves ... can i make a complaint or has this shebitch won

In Victoria i believe the rule is the setup can be there, but the only time you can have a tank is when its in the cabin going either too or from racemeets/refilling tank, and its not allowed to be connected.

If you join the Police force, and are on your P plates. Are you exempt from P plate restrictions both on and off duty?

I would guess that that is ridiculous; if anything, driving in thongs should be illegal

Only time we're exempt from anything is if driving in the course of duty.

So me blasting down the street to grab the morning paper and busting red lights, kinda doesn't cut it.

    hey

a mate of mine was video taped while doing a burnout (shows the no. plate and all) and the guy that video taped it threatened to hand it in to the cops unless he gives him $50.

if the video was handed in would you arrest em etc?
and that $50 thing, is that even legal?
