Right, so on saturday night I (or was it a mate of mine) was on a cruise with a different car club, and the guys I was following accidentally went past the meet point so they pulled over to check the directions. We were up in the Dandenongs at 1am, so I pulled off the main road onto a TINY dirt track, then saw that it had a little parking bay on the right so pulled in there and walked around the corner to see what the others had found out. (see my awesome diagram)
Once we had figured out what was going on, I went back around the corner to find a couple nice police officers pulled up having a look over the car. Once they had found out everything on my car is legal they wrote me up a ticket for "parked not facing the direction of travel". They barely said 2 words to me the whole time, and didn't even check my license even after I accidentally told them my old rego number and the wrong address that it was rego'd at. (I move houses a lot)
The question is, being that it was 1am and I was TRYING to do the right thing by getting off the main road, and then off this tiny back road, is the letter I'm about to write going to do me any good or is it just going to make me feel better and get a bit of a rant out? Besides, I was parked facing exactly the direction I was travelling
EDIT: Where I pulled over: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en...276.38,,0,2.86
