mistaken ID i would say , they might have been looking for a car that looks like yours in that area .
Got pulled over like half an hour ago at the front of my house by an unmarked cop car. I got out of the car and they said "We didn't realise you were a delivery driver" and drove off. I don't think I was speeding (if I was it was within 5km/h). What the hell just happened?

Actually I do recall them saying something about wanting to look at my license then saying don't worry about it. I said you can look at it if you want but they didn't want to. So yeah you're probably right. Also I was wearing a company hat (which is required) which probably looked sus at that time of night which would explain the "We didn't realise you were a delivery driver" comment.
maybe it was closing time at the local maccas ?

If u look up the ADR website u will see that trucks are allowed to b lit up like a christmas tree they come under light to heavy commercial vehicles. it is their identfying markers so when you over take one at night time then u know how long the truck is and how wide they are
In WA the laws changed last year or the year before i think it was irt neons and lights on your car. As long as the actual light, or the glob isn't visible, and it's only the "glow" of the light, then it's legal.
Same as with the stuff inside your car, ie: stereos, GPS etc give off a glow, you are now allowed to have that same "glow" from under your car, as long as they aren't red thou, as that signifies one of the 3 emergency vehicles.

Take any car needing a roadworthy around to several different repairers and they'll all give you different answers. Each one is looking at something different. There's a distinct lack of uniformity.
blind freddy could have seen that clearly and a number of other items on the same car , lack of uniformity , More the dollar signs from dodgy roadworthys or letting one or two things slide for a mate , you dont get a roadyworthy license overnight and there are regs and laws to adhere to and to be considered when issuing a cert of road worthiness.
I got a question, if I know someone thats driving around constantly in an unregistered car, one that was never actually registered in his name, how would I go about reporting it? Hes been doing it for years but never seems to get caught, and I believe that calling the police will do nothing as they require proof. What would be done in a case like this?

If I ask someone to leave my property, and they refuse, am I allowed to use appropriate physical force to remove them? Im not going to belt the prick up, just curious as this happened on the weekend and I ended up leaving my own property cause if this douche-bag, I know using very limited physical force would remove him, but I also know he is more then likely going to try and press charges if it counts as assault.
Tom 1569 - 1st Are you in NSW? Have you considered calling the police to remove him from your property? Is he related to you in some way or just some random.
I wouldn't want to risk it, you can't predict what the courts are going to do these days. If Police attend they will remove him to prevent a breach of the peace, but I wouldn't risk it myself.
A man's home is his castle.
In NSW it comes under the Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901. It is an offence to remain on inclosed private land once asked to leave by the owner.

In Victoria there is specific case law related to this issue. A higher court decision was handed down in the past (which is what makes case law for those who don't know) that says you're able to use whatever means necessary to remove a trespasser. Of course this doesn't mean flogging the crap out of them then dragging their bloody corpse onto the nature strip.
There's two things you need to weigh up. Your own safety is number one. Then there's the other issue you've already identified which is the other person making counter allegations against you. That's best combated by having other witnesses present to back you up. Other than that, it's just best to make a call to the police and seek their assistance.
