post up a couple of pics so we can get an idea of how bad it is, especially the peeling paint. but im certin if it is peeling (will be the clear coat) it will need to be resprayed.

couldn't agree more but if buying off the net is an issue or you want to do it tommorrow aimee then i suggest the autoglym range which are in white bottles, tins, etc and can be got from most auto places like autobarn, supercheap etc.- maguires, mothers, etc.. can be got there too but the brand i suggested would be my choice (if i had to buy from those places)
im out of my mind at the moment...please leave a message

My SSV leather seats have got a light white haze on them where sunblock has rubbed off my daughter's arms. Any suggestions on how to clean it off, and ways to protect it from further marking?

i dont think you be able to protect it from those marks getting back on there, but it should be alot easier to clean if it has a sealant protecting it. nanolex textile and leather sealant would be your best bet.

this duragloss kit would be your best bet to clean and condition it.

For your leather seats, I bought 3 bottles from Bunnings for leather, ones a cleaner, ones a conditioner and the other is a protector, like a 3 step process. Because I work around diesel, oil and dirty locos I put the throw over seat cover on, $20 from an auto store and easy to put on and take off

hey man i just got a ve and the pervious owner was a sign righter and he put protective stickers over the whole car bit like a iphone cover but thicker, i thought it was like that from factory but he cut them all and put them on himself, i was just wondering if it was ok to polish over the top or would it wreck it?
    cheers

yeah you can go over it with a polish with micro abrasives or a paint cleaner. the clear car bra's are fairly hardy but not worth marring the finish with a very abbrasive polish. just remember to remove all the polish built up around the edges of the film or it will look terrible

Got hit this morning, but minor, some idiot.

Anyway damage is minor, a few marks on it (white ssv i have). Just wondering if a good wash buff etc will do the trick?

it really depends if the damage has gone through the clear coat. if it has reached the base coat, primer or metal/plastic then polishing will not fix it. if it hasnt gone through the clear then machine polishing could remove the marks. in saying that if they are deep into the clear then wet sanding may be needed prior to machine polishing to fully remove the marks.

    Hey guys,

My VE is the first car I have owned with a clear coat, as such I'm looking for a polish/wax to help clean and look after the paint. Would something like Armor All: High Performance Wax and Polish be ok to use? This is just my daily car, looking after it, its not a show car and I don't want spend stupid amounts of money. Just want something that will look after the paint.

    Cheers guys,
    Mike.

looking after the paint is more then just a layer of wax, although it helps. to look after it you need to use a ph neutral car wash, 2 bucket method, microfibre wash mitt for paint and another seperate one for wheels, a good microfibre drying towel and a spray wax for lubrication when drying. using all these properly will minimise the amount of wash induced swirls which will help keep the paint in tip top condition.

now for protecting the paint id say ditch the armor all and get some duragloss total performance polish to use as a sealant. it will look great on silver and give good protection, and best of all its easy to use.

check out car care product's how to guide for a great rundown on looking after your car. they also sell all the gear needed at great prices.

Very true, I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to my cars. I was surprised actually, for what was just a fleet car, the paint is not bad - not great, but I was expecting worse. It will need a respray on the front and rear bumpers (normal car park stuff), otherwise, it's pretty decent

Cheers mate, I'll give Duragloss a go.
