Best $6000 Commodore

Hi again, have a 2009 VE SV6 which is by far the best car I've ever owned and looking to get the old man something reliable and decent looking for around $6000 so he keeps out of mine. What are the most reliable Commodores after ,say, 2004?

Sorry what you actually wrote was that you wanted to know what the most reliable commodore after 2004 was, not what model of commodore to avoid.

Series 1 cars are not usually as reliable as series 2 models.

Any second hand car could be a lemon, mpower's comment was perfectly valid.
