Default Auto TCC lockup info

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any harm if you make the auto never lock up the TCC. I know it will use more fuel at highway speeds, but is there any potential for damage to the auto itself? I have a VL and a VS. The VL has a power button which, when on, you never get into lockup. My only guess is at high speed the trans oil would get hotter than with the TCC locked up. If the VS TCC solenoid is disconnected, disabled or not engaging, wouldn't that be the same as the VL's power button but also have overdrive?

I'll swap you mine. My VS SII refuses to lock-up. Don't know why. The manual said the lock-up is controlled by the ECU. If that helps at all.

Why do you want to keep the lock up clutch from engaging?

Hey Joe. It's not that I want to keep it from locking, I just wanted to know if there is any potential for damage mechanically. The VL gets the shudders as the TCC engages on light load. So I leave the "power" button on all the time, symptoms are then out-of-mind. Then I was thinking if the VS's TCC should go shuddering or fail like yours, what harm is there (mechanically) in disabling it altogether? and perhaps running it in "3" instead of "D" like the VL.
