another possible killswitch idea
ive been trying to think of ways of installing a killswitch into my car, and i thought about combining it with the stereo system. basically, take a wire needed for the car to start, and splice it into the power antenna wire (similar to a sub installation) on the back of your headunit. probably wont work the way im thinking of, but it might be possible some similar way.
down side is that you cant lose your stereo face plate, but its something that thieves may not look for.
what do you guys think?

Well wouldn't be a good idea to start telling people on a public forum where to put kill switches now would it.

people are too damn protective of that crap. its because of everyone saying "im not gonna share that info on a public forum" that i have no idea how to install a killswitch.
im just suggesting an idea, im not telling thieves where to look

The thread in the other forum is near-exactly what you're suggesting. Just instead using the antenna power wire. What difference can you see there?

the difference is that i was asking if there is any simple way of doing this with a couple of wires, instead of using relays and ****.

Then no, there is not. Because you need to run 12 volts into the ignition wire - and the cd player doesn't out-put 12 volts. A relay takes the small voltage from the cd player, and 'switches' the relay on to allow the 12 volts to go into the ignition wire. The relay shouldn't be the problem, it's only one extra thing to connect into the circuit.

Some ppl i know what they have done is run a toggle to the back of the fuel pump fuse in 'Series', so that when the toggle switch is off, no current is supplyed to the fuel pump.
You basically do same thing for your starter motor solenoid and motor.
Ideally a different killswitch for the fuelpump, starter motor/solenoid etc, basically wiring toggles in a series connection with what ever your engine needs to run would be the best idea if u understand me.
And obviosly, the switchs should be well hidden and also these methods are easilly floored if the ppl know what there doin.
Hope this helps
