EPA ADR testing

Hi!

People in victoria only - or people that know about vic rules..

So i called up an engineer to get some stuff on my car approved - which would involve getting an EPA test done to confirm that my car conforms to ADR 37/00 ...

now after contacting the guys that do the testing I got a price of:

ADR37/00 Exhaust Emissions Only $1400.00+gst
ADR37/00 Exhaust & Evaporative Emissions $2750.00+gst

and i was like.. CRAP!

Then i thought to myself "hey, my friend just got defected, and he has to go get emissions tests done, too.... and he gets them for free?"

Does anyone know what happens with emissions testing when you're defected?
