Default Air horns

I am wanting to upgrade my horn because it's more to suit a mini more than my VK V8. Doesn't sound mean enough

Who here has those twin air horns? The red looking ones.
I have seen them in Autobarn and I don't know what they sound like and I want to know before I pay $35 for a set. Would anyone here be nice enough to upload an audio file of their air horn sound. Like if you could record the sound of the horn being pushed a few times?
The pic below is the one I'm thinking of getting. Should I get a triple horn instead?

Thanks.

Just do it.

You won't be disappointed.

Personally, I wouldn't go for the triples. Two is more than enough.

My current horn sounds more like *BEEP. BEEEEEP*
Like I said, it more suits a dang mini.

What I want is something that sounds like a truck horn, but not that loud!

Well don't get those ones, from my recollection those have more of a "toooot" sound. Had them on my car

Great. My brother has a 2005 Astra and when he lets off his horn, it's very loud and makes me jump sometimes. I called Holden and they want 50 bucks for the horn as a Astra part. Just wondering if it would bolt up without a problem. I don't see why not though.

Go to a wrecker and get a pair of late model Calais horns. They beat the crap out of the stock Commodore horns.

Otherwise, the airhorns you're looking at for $35 are pretty good value. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I had some similar to those in an old Corolla once. Used to scare lots of people. hehehe...

Should be fine. You might have to upgrade your horn relay to a 30 amp one, but they come with the air horn kits anyway.

i found a set of them at home the other day that dad bought for the vx ss
(ssxv350 is the licence plate for all perth people that may have seen it with two black stripes up the bonnet and boot)

the two red horn bits are there but i think the black/silver motor bit that sits in the middle (when theyre in the packet) is gone..are the horn bits completely useless now?

Ah no way. You might need to ask the people in your house if they have seen it. It's pretty useless without the air compressor thing. It's pretty much throw away stuff now. A replacement compressor might cost you almost as much as a whole new kit.

I still haven't got my horns yet but I think I will get the triples.
