Default Removing / Re-attaching spoiler

I have removed the spoiler from my VS because the person who installed it (before I bought the car) did a terrible job. I was only held on by three of the five bolts, and it was sealed very poorly and leaked water into the boot. The three remaining bolts were rusted out and one of them was so badly rusted I had to drill it out.

The bolts used to go through the boot lid from the inside and screw into threded inserts which were in the spoiler. Because these are rusted out, most have just fallen right out of the spoiler. My question is, can anyone reccomend a tidy and watertight way to reattach it? I considered gluing nuts into the spoiler to replace the threded inserts (which were round, by the way), but I'm not sure if this would be strong enough.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. "Leave the spoiler off" is not a valid recommendation.

Thanks
