mate if ur in nsw good luck, cos when my vp wagon got stolen 2yrs ago, i got the car back with no compliance plates, i tried for months to get sum but holden couldnt do it and no one else wanted to know about it, in the end i ended up having to obtain a letter of compliance from holden , stating my car had been stolen blah blah, ne ways to get the letter of compliance u need proof of ownership(ie rego papers in your name) and reason why they are not there, and they have to full track what ur car has been up to all its life and inspect the actual car .
Mine needed a police statement, i was just luky i got all that done b4 i sold the car cos the dealer just laughd when he saw no compliance plates , but shut up wen i showd him the letter of compliance

In SA you would need to get a full roadworthy and Transport Sa will issue whats called "Exemption from having a Compliance plate" and then they will issue a sticker to say that this car has been inspected and conforms to ADR's.

There's a bloke in USA that makes compliance plates. He's a perfectionist, right down to duplicating dumb factory punching.

He's pretty hard on drilling you, and usually wants a scan of your old plate to prove he's not forging. So that would rule you out if you don't have an original.

Google search gives his latest home as http:// www. datatags. com (remove spaces)
