I'm sure I heard this was only in proposal stage for further technology well (10 years+) down the track...
I received an e-mail recently claiming that the NSW police would be using data recorded from the entry & exit points on the M7 to calculate the time travelled and the average speed for that vehicle. If that speed is over the limit a fine would be issued.
IMHO this would be a nightmare to prove in court (seeing that the M7 has difficulty distinguishing between 2 cars travelling through a gate close together and a semi).
Any thoughts?

I noticed you posted this thread twice...
If you want, post these sorts of threads in 'ask the copper'
theres a couple of cops that spend 80% of their offduty time answering questions in that thread!

It's untrue. I think M7 operators even put something on their site about it ages ago reinforcing this.

grrrrrrr, this has nothing to do with the M7 but I had enough and need to complain.
I haven't had a traffic fine in nearly 15 years and since I got my VP the local cop pulls me over every single chance he gets, I'm at the stage where I don't want to drive my car for fear of being hassled. He asks me stupid questions like do you have a firearm license? do you have a firearm? have you ever had a firearm, what's a vegetarian hippy like me going to be doing with a gun. Does he just want to know so he can hassle me more without me pulling a hadgun on him next time he pulls me over????. I'm at the point of not stopping if it wasn't raining tonight I was almost up to it I had enough fuel for a couple hours @ 230, I'm too old for this rubbish
You should have asked this in the other thread, but anyway. There's probably a reason behind those questions. The previous owner/s probably used to own firearms, this information is usually attached to vehicle as well. That's probably why your getting pulled over. Other than that, he probably finds you quite attractive and is just waiting for the right time to ask you for your numberOriginally Posted by greenfoam
... I don't know, next time he pulls you up, crack a joke as such and see what happens.
Pacey is spot on there, as you said, its only since you got the new car... You'll probably fins that a previous owner/or user of the vehicle was one of those naughty people you hear about from time to time...Originally Posted by greenfoam
You can write away to the criminal records section of the NSWPS explaining has been happening or even the Local Area Command asking the intel officer to look into it for you. If they find that you have no association with the information attached to the vehicle then they can remove the link and it may resolve the issue.
But also as Pacey said, he may just think you're cute!![]()
Oh yeah that's of course if you are in NSW. otherwise try the same with your state police.
Cheers
