Default rim size combinations

if anyone knows the vicroad rules and regulations for different rim/wheel combination on a car.

ie. 17" 235/45 on the fronts and 15" 205/65 on the rears.

only thing ive heard is that wheel combinations are legal as long as both rear tyres are the same and both front tyres are the same.

and no i dont want to burn tyres :P

any help appreciated.

road saftey finaly opend up.. manged to call in.

anyone who wants to know proper regulations.

you can have different rims/tyres on a car as long as they are made for that car, and you have to have same rim/tyre on same axel.

So does this mean there can be 14"s on the front and 15"s on the rear or vice versa 15"s on the front and 14"s on the rear? I'm asking in regards to a FWD car.. cheers!

Yes as long as you have the same rim/tyre combo on the same axle you are fine.
I have had 18/15" combo for a while without any probs.

Can be a different tread pattern/brand, but must be the same size.
So you cant have say a 225/65/15 and a 205/65/15.
